Well, it's a month later and i'm just getting around to updating this. CUUCs was a blast. Ottawa is a great city. We learned that what happens on Parliament Hill, stays on Parliament Hill. We stayed with the Bradfords in their beautiful home in Kanata. Our fields were in Mannotick, which was about a 30 minute drive away.

We started off with being seeded 11th our of 11 teams. We played pool play games on Friday and Saturday morning. We went 2-1 on friday, only losing to U of T 9-8 at universe point after them calling a point in, that was clearly out the back, and a miscalled middle start off the pull. Our wins were 13-1 against both Sherbrooke and McMaster. Saturday, we played one more pool play game, and lost to the Queen's Paperbag Princesses. We played our whole team, while they only played their starters.

We played McGill in the Quarter Finals and lost. It was one of our best games (Our other good game was against Queen's), and one our hardest games. We were very pleased with our games that day, even though we didn't win. So we decided, since we didn't win that, we were going to win the party. And, we did. Team Sask won the Canadian University Ultimate Boat Race Championships. Our girls, well mostly Amy and Jess, showed the rest of the country how to drink beer.

Party People

Team Sask: Party Winners

Sunday, well.... Let's just not talk about it. We ended up 8th... which should have been 5th... 'nuff said. We won the party!!

We got to watch both the women's and open finals between McGill and Ottawa, and McGill and Toronto, respectively. Ottawa took it for the women and Toronto in the open division. The Open final was really exciting. Congrats to both teams ('cause I know that people from both teams will be reading this....)

Injuries for the weekend were all ankles. Jess, Janna, Jena and Erin all sprained theirs. Or so they thought. It turned out, Jena had actually broken her tibia all the way through at one spot and partially at a couple other spots. Luckily, it hadn't slipped out of place because she hurt it Saturday during the day, dance all night and then played a couple points on sunday! She's a trooper. We didn't even know she was hurt!!! She in a cast now and hopefully it's healing properly.

Anyways, good times were had. I might even take a class next year so I can go again!
