I got the speed, if you got the power.

I really have no idea what the title means, it just came to me.

I bought new cleats today for ultimate. I had adidas soccer cleats, but they've been hurting my legs (shin splints... maybe...) so i wanted something that might not be as bad, since it looks as though I'll be playing ALOT this summer. I got Nike Speed TD's. It's what all the best NFL receivers wear, or so i'm told. I'm looking forward to tryin'em out.

I went and played disc golf at the Diefenbaker course today. It's got longer holes than the Tree park course, but fun none the less. I didn't keep score this time, as it was only my 2nd round. My first throw of the day landed in a tree and stayed there. Amy ended up climbing up the tree and shaking the branch 'til it fell. The rest of the game went much better, except for the mosquitoes. They are huuuge this year and out in full force.

I've been listening to Matt Costa's album these past couple of days. Nathan mentioned him a while back, when he was trying to find music for his sister's ipod that lost all it's music. My favourite song is Sunshine and Behind The Moon. Apparently he started recording his demo's in his basement, just like everyone else. He has recently toured with Jack Johnson et al. It's somewhat Jack Johnson-esque music, as soon somes are pretty chill, but I'd probably say it's got some more rock-ish influences to it as well. He has a song on the Curious George soundtrack with Jack Johnson, Lullaby. He was on MTV: Live earlier this week too. Decent live performance. All in all, go out and listen to this album. Definetly a good find.

Other music I've been listening to:
The Hush Sound - Crawling Towards the Sun, Hourglass
Dangerdoom - Benzi Box
Metric - Old World Underground, Where are you now Album
Brandston - Mexico
Yellowcard - City of Devils
Xavier Rudd - Food in the Belly Album, Solace Album (Let me be)
Bleed The Dream - Broken Dreams

The list is longer... but it's time for supper.

Xen....It's my Guilty Pleasure.....so SekSEE

Ultimate frisbee season is almost here. I'm playing on 3 teams: Xen for A league, SekSEE for B league, and Guilty Pleasure, a women's touring team. I've been practicing lots lately. I got a sunburn on Saturday 'cause I was outside for pretty much the entire day. My hands are all bruised too... well mostly it's just my pinky and my thumb.

In june, GP is going to Vancouver for the Flowerbowl Tournament. Right now, we're the only team in the women's division, so we might be moving up to the Elite Women's division. It's gonna be rough if that happens. It'll definitley be a learning experience! I'm still super stoked to be going though.

I was supposed to have an exhibition game today, but we got rained out. I hope that isn't the trend for this season. I was actually kinda glad not to have to play today cause my leg hurts. can't have too much of break though cause i ahve practice again tomorrow and an exhibition game. Soo busy. I love it.

I got Red Hot Chili Peppers pre-sale tickets today. The seats are pretty stellar! It was such a hassle to get the tickets though cause I got the iTunes pre-sale deal, where I bought the album and so you're supposed to get the code the day before the Ticketmaster pre-sale started, which was this morning at 10am. I didn't get the code 'til at least 1pm. I ended up phoning Ticketmaster in Saskatoon, then Vancouver, then Apple Support or something.... apparently, alot of people had that trouble. In the end, i got tickets. So i'm happy. September 19th is a long way aways.

I've been watching so much Laguna Beach. It's so great. SO much drama. Hilarious. That's all i gotta say about that.

School is done and so am I

School's done. Time for summer. It's been a busy month. I was just looking back and I realized I haven't posted in a month. So... a recap!

April consisted of writing papers and exams. I practically lived in the library until my last exam. I went down to the University of Regina to write that dreaded exam again. My brother drove down with me, 'cause he was going to hang out with one of his friends - a girl! from high school while down there, but when we arrived and he called, she seemed to be too busy for him. I felt kinda bad, but I was glad of the company for the drive. You'd be surprised how much digital cell phone coverage you get on the way. I text messaged pretty much the whole way back.

Exams were uneventful. I wrote them. They are over.

Throughout the month, I did manage to attend 2 CD release partys for North of Shorty and From Chimpan-A to Chimpan -Z. I highly enjoyed both shows and I suggest picking up both albums if you can.

I wrote my last exam on Wednesday, April 26th, and then i packed up the Subaru, picked up Scott and Sean and headed out to Calgary. We stayed the night at Scott's friend, Rob's house, where I managed to fall out of their Ikea-like chaird. We went for drinks on 17th Ave, and saw Justin and Mark. I don't know how late we were out, but i was tired.

The next morning we left for Canmore, after a little no-shopping on 17th Ave. I found some nice jeans, but they were too short... as per usual... We met up with Scott's gf, Aimee, in Canmore and headed out to Lake Louise with her and her roommates. We got there around 230, so we were going to just clip tickets, but were unsuccesful.... sooo i ended up paying $54.27 for 3 runs. I would have gotten more in, but only the gondola was running from the base so that took a while. Everyone else liked the park so I rode through there to check it out... looked pretty huge, too huge for me... 'cause pretty much everything is too huge for me....

Back to Canmore for supper with Ryan, then he went back to work- tax season. I went and hung out with Scott and everyone. We went to some bar, and played darts. I am not very good at darts. Although, I did improve with time. Nothing like extreme darts though. Can't beat extreme darts.

Friday was the first day I'd slept in past 830 in what seems like months. Everyone went to work so I hung out and watched DVDs all morning. I went on a little trip to Banff in the afternoon. I bought some black dress pants from United Colours of Benetton. I was impressed cause they are long enough WITH heels!! Ryan and I just watched a movie that night, Jarhead, I thought it was alright.

Saturday was a full day of riding with Ryan and Megan (yes HMD!). Josh, Phil and Lauren showed up later for Swollen Members and beers. After a long day, We all headed in to Calgary 'cause Josh won Game 5 Flames tickets from his office and decided to take Brehon. So I went to Lauren's and we both go ready there. She has the cutest little basement suite and the nicest roommates. After the game was won, Lauren and I met up with the boys again. We went to Phil and Josh's apartment which is really close to 17th Ave. They had those Cadbury Egg's leftover from Easter. That was bad news, Josh started a war. I won. I hit him in the eye and his contact tore. Oops.

We checked out the Red Mile... it was mostly the underage crowd. Phil, Mark and I worked on our espionage skills. Ryan and Lauren were a couple steps behind us when we walked there, and thought they lost us, but really we were a couple feet to the right. So they started walking and we started trailing. We followed them for like 3 blocks and back, then they decided to go into a restaurant for a drink. We followed them in their too. The restaurant ran out of bottles of beer. Who does that?

After that got old, we went back to the apartment and Josh decided to start throwing stuff off their balcony. Let's see... Phil's gross cookies (those things fly... maybe), bits of red pepper, leftover eggs that we could find, old moldy buns... ya, just about everything. I wonder if we hit anything. The next morning when we left the sidewalk was littered with bits and pieces, here and there.

Sunday morning, Brehon and I drove back out to Lake Louise. We were both super tired from the rest of the weekend so we took it pretty easy. After an afternoon of riding the slush, i drove back to Canmore, dropped Ryan off, picked Scott up and we headed abck to Saskatoon. The drive was pretty uneventful. Had some good tunes for driving, it was aaaalright.

I started work last week. I'm working in the Cameco Multiple Sclerosis Neuroscience Research Center at City Hospital for one of my prof's. I've just been learning some techniques for the past week so it's been pretty relaxed. I'll be looking at neuropathic pain stuff eventually.

That's all for now,
pz.
