Thrice thrice
I just got home from Taste of Chaos. I've now seen Thrice thrice. haha ooh how clever am i? The greatest thing is, they never cease to amaze me at how freaking awesome they are in concert.
I was late arriving at Taste of Chaos, since it started at 5pm, and i arrived at close to 9pm. I bought the tickets back in January when I first heard about it. I probably should have stayed home and studied/wrote, but i just couldn't miss out on Thrice. I wanted to see Atreyu and Dredg too, but unfortunately, they played early in the evening. I walked into Thrice just starting Music Box, which is one of my favourite songs from Vheissu. I think it was their third song. They rocked it. They also played (in no particular order):
Red Sky - new single
Kill Me Quickly - old song, awesome
Atlantic - just great.
The Earth Will Shake - huge sound, fucking amazing harmonies
Stare At The Sun - a favourite from Artist in the Ambulance
Artist in the Ambulance - awesomeness
(i know i'm missing a few....)
and to close it all down: Deadbolt - a classic from Illusion of Safety, would have rocked my socks if they had played the piano solo at the end... they even had a piano on stage for their new stuff from Vheissu...
I wanted to hear To Awake and Avenge the Dead, that woulda topped off the evening. Or else Phoenix Ignition, but i've never heard them play that live... maybe they would in a show they were headlining? I can hope can't I?
I also saw Chino from the Deftones' bum. He's very energetic on stage and his pants kept falling down. The Deftones' were awesome as well. I haven't really listened to them much, but i can see why they've influenced so many bands.
My friend Jade was taking pictures at the show, so hopefully he'll let me post this one pic of Dustin from Thrice. It's pretty damn sweet... Until then, i'll keep you in suspense!
Anyways, it's time for bed...
(does anyone ever read this anymore??)

My Life as a Lab Report
Lately, my life has consisted of writing lab reports, reading journal articles, playing ultimate frisbee and playing basketball. Now that winter ultimate and basketball are done and exams are looming... my life will consists of writing reports which require reading numerous journal articles, studying for exams, drinking Tim Horton's coffee, and dreaming of April 26th, which is when I'll be done finals.
There's a probable chance that I'll be heading out to Calgary/Canmore for some business with HMD, shortly thereafter.
Winter playoffs for ultimate were this past weekend. My team, Almost Famous, won the B-side. I think I may have gotten the prize for best injury.... Just cause I'm awesome like that.
Back to writing....
